Sunny Smartlead was recently awarded the ISO 26262 ASIL D Certificate by TÜV Rheinland, a third-party testing, inspection and certification organization, which signifies that Sunny Smartlead has passed the Functional Safety Management System Certification.

Introduction to ISO 26262

ISO 26262 is a globally recognized automotive functional safety standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization, covering the entire life cycle of automotive products. The process system certification and product certification are highly recognized in the automotive industry, and have become one of the thresholds for electronic parts suppliers to enter the automotive industry.

Especially for automobile enterprises and Tier 1s, compliance with the ISO 26262 standard is essential for the development and manufacture of automotive safety-related components. The standard covers the planning, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, configuration and other aspects of functional safety requirements, and ensures the functional safety and reliability of automotive products by minimizing the risk of automotive electrical or electronic system failures through a well-developed development process.

TÜV Rheinland is one of the earliest international third-party certification organizations to develop functional safety business in China, and also participates in the development of the ISO 26262 standard as a member of the editorial board, which is highly authoritative.

This certification took less than 1 year from the start of the project to the end of the examination, and experienced the most serious period of the domestic epidemic outbreak. The company still actively promoted the project internally. Through standard training, standard interpretation, process construction, pre- examination, and formal examination, the team members worked diligently and rigorously to complete the tasks, and successfully reached the project goal according to the plan, Sunny Smartlead showed strong execution and team cohesion, and laid a solid foundation for the future development of the company.
